Today i read an online news, and saying that Hostgator.com inc is extending its business, and renting an extra 1700 unit of servers from “The Planet’s Houston” and “Dallas data centers”. The Planet’s facility in Dallas, Texas, enabling it to access Tier-1 backbone providers such as UUNet, Global Crossing, Sprint, Level 3, Verio and AT and T and AboveNet.
Tips: If you are having dedicated server with hostgator hosting, you will notice that when you make a WHOIS check on the domain name, the datacenter/location is refer to The Planet. Which means these servers are located at the planet datacentre. And for dedicated server or reseller plan, you will have your own private DNS name, for you own branding advantage.
It also reveal that hostgator hosts more than 500,000 web sites and with 2006 revenue exceeding $11 million.
Thats a lot of money. And proof a solid growth in hostgator hosting.
Well, as a hostgator customer, i hope for better hosting service and features in short future as well
