Right after 30 minutes from account activation email that i received, while I was busy uploading wordpress files to hostgator server, and setup the cpanel mysql, I was prompt with another email from hostgator

Email Title: Verification Needed – HostGator.com
Email Content:
“Hello,

In order for us to setup your account, we will need you to call us and verify your account. If you are not able to call, you can also respond to this ticket with a scanned copy of a Photo ID such as as a passport, or drivers license. Also please include a scanned copy of the credit card that was used in purchase, if you purchased a hosting account with a credit card. Please do so at your earliest convenience to ensure that your account with HostGator is setup as soon as possible.

OK… this email freak me. This moment i recalled that there was once saw a similar user review at Internet, stating “hostgator account suspended”, guess they dont follow this verification email correctly to verify their account.

Next, I give hostgator a call. Some IVR voice i can hear it clear, “press 1 for sales..”, ok i pressed one. Then i was forward to real person. Fantastic, I was expecting more prompt … bla bla bla . ok, i told her that i going to verify my account. She ask for my domain name, and follow by around 15 seconds waiting over phone, and she ask for credit card last 4 digits, and verifying address. She told me, “Sir, your account will be activated in 5 minutes time…” .. ok, solve! and my account is verified.

15 minutes after I completed the ordering of hostgator hosting, I received the account activation email from sales@hostgator.com. The email content is simple, with:

• domain name
• username password
• IP address
• Name server
• cpanel login

and there is more…and i find it very useful to get started.

“There is a file called hostgator.html in your public_html folder. This page will give you basic links on getting started. Your welcome to delete this file or if you upload an index.html file in public_html, then the hostgator.html file will not come up by default.”

ok, thats all of the activation email that i received.
